Myotherapist - Daniel McKay

Myotherapy is the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction. It is a form of physical therapy that can be beneficial for those experiencing acute or chronic pain OR as a form of maintenance for the sporting population. Myotherapy will not only address the site of the pain but also treat the causes, be it bio-mechanical, postural or stress related.

Daniel graduated from the Southern School of Natural Therapies with a Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Myotherapy having already been a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist since 2010.

Daniel has a passion for sports which has seen him work at AFL clubs at grass roots level, to the TAC Cup with the North Ballarat Rebels and at elite level spending time at both Melbourne FC and Collingwood FC.

He has also treated district cricketers, world ranked squash players, sub elite runners, basketballers, golfers and weekend warriors.

In practice, Daniel uses his knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, its biomechanics and associated muscle trigger points and pain referral patterns with the aim to return patients to optimal function. Myotherapy can also be a great way to maintain an active and pain-free lifestyle.
